I Love My Husband
I love my husband.
I've cried for weeks just thinking about him. Seriously.
The Proverbs 31 woman seems to get all the love and attention, but dang. If there were a Proverbs 32, it'd be about my husband.
He came home once from work to comb lice out of my hair. I had caught it from the girls. Yay me. I was so.crazy.embarrassed, but he just took an early lunch and combed the little devils out. And then put up with me as I thought every itch from that point on was undoubtedly another. Ha.
He held my hand to take a shower. I had the worst double ear infection while being very, very pregnant. The hospital even gave me a spinal tap. I couldn't balance, let alone shower. So he held my hand for about a week every time I showered while I tried to at least detox a layer of skin, somewhere.
He walked me to the bathroom. Every pregnancy. All four C-sections and a tubal reversal. He missed work to walk me to the bathroom. Let that sink in.
He's laughed at all my jokes. This is a stand-alone statement. Most of my jokes are horrible.
He worked 2-3 jobs for years with no complaint. Jobs that sucked. Jobs that sucked the life out of him. Jobs that made little to no money just so he could provide because our kids were little and daycare would have been too costly. (He just works one now. 😊)
He hugs our kids. He tells them he loves them. That the girls look pretty and the guys look stylish. He tells them congrats when they work hard on a project, and hangs the pictures they draw in his office like the true artwork it is.
He prays over us each day and reads the Bible. I know because I see his Bible app "reading streak." (Good job, by the way!) He'll pray over me at 4 in the morning if I've had a disturbing dream, no complaints. Just prayer.
He gets up to check on the sounds I hear. Yep, all of them. And even killed a spider when one of our kids came asking for a spider-killer around 1:30 am.
I could go on and on. The long and short is, I have been given a gift in my husband. He's a whole 'nother level of amazing and awesome and Godliness. I admire him. I aspire to be like him. He leads our home with dignity and grace, definite patience and kindness. And I just wanted to share, publicly, and thank him. 💓
I'mma kiss him later.
